About Us

Our heritage extends back a little under 60 years. Those who had the pleasure of living in that wonderful era, or the nostalgic amongst you, might remember something called ‘The Diners Club’. In 1949, businessman Frank McNamara forgot his wallet while dining out at a New York City restaurant.
It was an embarrassment he resolved never to face again. Luckily, his wife rescued him and paid the tab.About
February 1950. McNamara returned to Major’s Cabin Grill with his partner Ralph Schneider. When the bill arrived, McNamara paid with a small cardboard card, known today as a Diners Club® Card.
This event was hailed as the “First Supper,” paving the way for the world’s first multipurpose charge card.
The Diner’s Club monopoly was short lived. In 1958 a company by the name of American Express launched their version of the credit card, known as the travel and entertainment card.
Prior to this store cards were issued, typically for stores in the vicinity of the local bank for which the payment was secured. It’s funny how the legality of digital currencies are questioned today, yet the concept of using a valueless instrument to represent banking has been around for years!
So where does our heritage come in? Many companies of that era which are still around in some shape or form are often evolutions of the original company. The same can be said for what is known today as Cryptech Global. Our team have been involved in the development of magnetic strip technology, quite a breakthrough back in the early 60’s. Then came the era of one-time passcodes, radio-frequency identification (RFID) and contactless bracelets and wristbands.
It wasn’t long before fraudsters were as tech savvy as the technology companies and more secure solutions were required. The EMV computer chip solution saw a global move away from the magnetic strip and RFID systems. It’s primary benefit was ID verification and payment solution. It’s disadvantage was that it still relied on a physical card.
Today when we talk about payment transactions and we start to use words like trillion and quadrillion, it is no wonder that there is as much emphasis on speed as there is on security. Payment gateways and methods are constantly evolving, as are the fraudsters looking to access valuable data and information. This is where Crtyptech Global come in – our area of expertise is in payment gateway security. Our work is extremely confidential, has no brand or identity, yet we all benefit from the solutions that we provide.
Due to the nature of our business, the research and development team is one of the single most important elements of the company. In 2010 the R&D team started to look at something called Bitcoin – something we now hear about every day. It wasn’t Bitcoin itself that had our team so interested, it was the infrastructure of the public ledger known as ‘Blockchain’.
There are many benefits to using Blockchain technology. The factor that grabs the attention of every large corporate company is the near zero processing cost. It’s no wonder that companies like Dell started accepting Bitcoin payments – with reported earnings of around $59 billion in 2015 and traditional transactional fees of around 3-5%, zero cost for transactions would seem very appealing.
For the last 8 years Cryptech Global have been working on encryption and blockchain technology, supplying solutions to thousands of companies globally.
About In 2010 we partnered with a fund management company. It was only natural that we chose to invest in the market that we were working so hard to protect. We started off by purchasing Bitcoin, which was a very conservative investment at the time as the price per Bitcoin was a little over $550. Today we are pleased to say that we have a very diverse and lucrative digital assets portfolio. All of our staff hold digital asset portfolios and it is company policy to pay overtime and bonuses in digital currency. We have some very happy staff, especially those that opted into the 3 year holding plan, one or two of which have subsequently retired!
Natural progression has seen the discretionary fund management side of the company grow from strength to strength. Up until the end of 2017, we worked primarily with corporates and institutions. We have identified a niche in the market for individuals, where we could provide a service enabling a client to embark on digital asset ownership through our bundle solution.
